Getting your computer ready for repairs

So that we can repair your computer as efficiently as possible, please do the following before we pick up or you drop off.

Laptop

Put a sticker inside the keyboard that includes: Your start up password, your name, email address and mobile number.  A brief description of the problem.

Include the power supply (brick) and put it all into a padded bag.  Include your mouse and any accessories that are causing an issue.  Include your backup drive if you want us to check it is working correctly.

Desktop

We need just the ‘box’ and only any accessories that are causing an issue.  Do not include any cables unless you genuinely suspect they are the issue. Include your backup drive if you want us to check it is working correctly.

Put a sticker on the side that includes: Your start up password, your name, email address and mobile number.  A brief description of the problem.

All-in-one computers, include your power brick.

Data Recovery

If we are recovering data for you, it will be cheaper if you include an external hard drive for us to copy the data onto.

Loss of Stored Data:

We will always do our best to minimise data loss, however:    The repair of your goods may result in the loss of any user-generated data.
In this notice, user-generated data refers to any data stored on goods including customised programming and data and/or
documents stored on computers, notebooks, monitors, tablets and mobile devices.

Please ensure that you have made a backup copy of any data saved on your device.

Use of Refurbished Parts:
Goods presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished goods of the same type rather than being repaired. Refurbished parts
may be used to repair the goods.
